I don't know about you, but what I saw last Saturday on HBO Boxing was exactly what I expected. Look at this HBO boxing match if you can and you will see that the fix was in! As I had mentioned previously the seeming purpose of this fight was the bring Roy Jones back into boxing news. The latest boxing news is missing marquee names, and even though Roy Jones won't revive... Read More
The HBO boxing countdown has begun as Saturday's fight featuring 35-year-old Felix Trinidad and 39-year-old Roy Jones Jr. is only days away. Don King has been the madman behind this fight's promotion. As you will see in the YouTube video featuring an interview with Roy Jones Jr., he is extremely confident in himself. He even goes as far as talking in the third person. That... Read More with Video
Manny Pacquiao has gotten a wrap for knocking out the best fighters that Mexico has to offer. I say this because the Filipino Pacquiao has beaten all stars like Marco Antonio Barrera, Juan Manuel Marquez and Hector Velasquez. He was the IBF Super Batamweight world champion, has held titles in the WBC Flyweight division and as I said beaten some of the best that Mexico has... Read More with Video
Oscar de la Hoya has been in boxing news recently for all the wrong reasons. Who knows how many fans he lost when his cross dressing pictures surfaced. But in a possible attempt to re-prove his manhood the Golden Boy camp said that they have chosen who his next bout will be against. This boxing news spread as soon as Mayweather defeated Hatton. Oscar has made a tradition... Read More
It's been a long time since we have seen the Puerto Rican bomber Felix Trinidad in the latest boxing news. This January, HBO boxing will be presenting the Puerto Rican bomber against none other than HBO boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. I don't know about you but this HBO boxing match sounds like such a fix to me. Think about it, Tito has not fought in what it seems to be... Read More
Did anyone catch those best of the year fights on HBO Boxing a couple of weeks ago? Weren't they great? Does HBO do that every year or was this the first year for that. I want to know because next year I am going to record it all and throw an all-night party and show the best ones. If somebody says they don't like boxing, they have never seen HBO boxing. The fights are... Read More
If you haven't visited the HBO Boxing web site, you should. It can show you old fights and inform you on upcoming fights. I like the Photos and videos that you can view. I love to be reminded of my favorite fights and I love to look at my favorite fighters (what can I say... I'm a woman who loves a well build man). When you go to the video and photo page, you get a pull... Read More
Felix "Tito" Trinidad will be fighting Roy Jones Jr. on January 19th on pay per view. This looks like it might be a good fight. Tito is 42 and 2 with 35 knock out and Jones is 51 and 4 with 38 knock outs. HBO Boxing has a great match-up here. I think that Tito has the edge on this one. He has a tremendous career and has an 80% knockout rate! That is amazing! Sure Jones has... Read More
Here's another fight that HBO Boxing is replaying in the next couple of days. This awesome bout will air at ! This fight took place almost a year ago now so I will really enjoy this one! As I mentioned earlier, the 2007 Best Fight Reviews just started on HBO Boxing yesterday. I was unhappy about there not being a fight until the end of January, now I am pretty cool with it. Tonight on HBO Boxing they are showing the fight between Joe Calzaghe vs. Mikkel Kessler. Of course I just saw this fight, but I will watch it again. It is kind of a shame to already... Read More
I have watched great HBO boxing fights for years before and I really want to do it again. There really seems to be a void in the scheduling. Did I miss a big one? The next big fight isn't until the end of January. I think they have it scheduled for January 19th or something with Trinidad verses Jones Jr. on pay-per-view. I wanted to enjoy a good fight over the holiday. I go... Read More
While the Mayweather-Hatton bout may have taken place over a week ago, the results for how it faired in a media standpoint are just rolling in. Around 850,000 people purchased the match on Pay-Per-View. Think about that considering the bout cost 55 dollars to order. The fight also created 47 million dollars in TV revenue according to boxing news from HBO boxing. To put... Read More
In a clever public relations move, HBO boxing is capitalizing on a long climb up to the fight tonight between Mayweather and Hatton. Running on the coat-tails of the immense popularity of Dancing With the Stars, HBO boxing is show-casing the darling of the boxers, Mayweather, in the match tonight. It's no secret that a huge percentage of women love the dancing show, and... Read More
HBO Boxing has single handedly brought back to life the sport of mainstream boxing with the promotion of Saturday's Mayweather vs. Hatton match. HBO Boxing created a series called 24/7 that documented the two fighters lives in the upcoming days before the fight. It was released in three episodes, which at least at my house have been extremely popular. To me this is one of... Read More with Video
Near the top of the boxing news is word that HBO boxing is struggling to maintain its audience against stiff competition from MMA (mixed martial arts) programming that is bleeding off (no pun intended) hordes of younger viewers who find HBO boxing, ESPN boxing and Showtime boxing programming boring an repetitive.
