The Jermain Taylor and Kelly Pavlik bout is going to be a super middleweight fight that will not only make boxing news but also give more insight to Roy Jones Jr. about who he will want to face next. Taylor and Pavlik have an equal amount revenge reserved for next month's fight on February 16 at the MGM Grand in Vegas. Here is the background on these two fighters. Taylor had held the WBO and WBC middleweight champion spots until he faced Pavlik in September. The Atlantic City fight seemed as if Taylor had it in the bag after he knocked Pavlik onto the mat in second round. Partially stunned, Pavlik rose up and put up a fight until the seventh round when the unthinkable happened. Pavlik laid a massive blow to win the fight. They had inked out a deal to fight twice even though the second fight would not be making boxing news with a chance to claim any titles but there had to be another fighter. And that fight is next month.
Above is an example of the kind of throwing power that Pavlik has against opponents. I am not sure if this is going to be an HBO boxing event or something covered on ESPN boxing. Probably HBO though.
