Tearaways drove a car into the side of a sports training gym in Compton Greenfield. Little did they know how close they came to being face to face with women's boxing champion Jane Couch. Now this is boxing news!

It was the next day that boxing news learned the details of this incident. The five time world champion who trains at the Spaniorum Farm Gym in Berwick Lane was on the premises when a car went off the road and collided into the building. The car left a 20 by 8 foot hole in the wooden wall of the building owned by her trainer. Of all boxing news, this is definitely some of the strangest.

Luckily nobody was in the gym at the time of the incident. If anything would have happened to Jane Couch, it would have made every headline of boxing news. Jane, who is 37, said she saw flashing lights and people outside so she went out to see what was going on. The following morning she turned out onto the lane and saw the damages. She was very annoyed.

This is great boxing news.....a champ like her was not too proud to put herself to work and help with repairs when she should have been doing promotional work! Police had been called and were trying to trace the culprits. Not the kind of boxing news anyone would hope to be involved with. It was the second time this particular property had been hit.

Jane Couch was awarded an MBE in last year's Queen's birthday honors.  She served 14 years to the sport of professional boxing at that time. She should make the boxing news world very proud!
