There was not any exciting boxing news today only the sad news about South Korean boxer, Choi Yo-Sam who was pronounced dead today after going into a coma so I thought I would talk about the huge UFC bout that featured Chuck Liddel and Silva on the past Saturday. I was not lucky enough to see this pay-per-view event that took place in Mandalay Bay but from what I have seen from the YouTube videos, it was an amazing fight.
There was not a knockout as these two light heavyweights went to decision after the third round. Liddel was pronounced the winner in a unanimous decision, which solidified his title as one of the most deadly light heavyweight UFC fighters. Boxing news may not have covered this event a lot considering it was for the UFC but there was definitely some massive punches thrown during the fight. One of which landed on the right eye of Silva that ended up cutting open a nice gash. This boxing news helped end a two fight losing streak that Liddel had been facing.
