With the recent resurgence in boxing, why aren't there a lot more articles on women's boxing? In proportion, men's boxing still rates far more press. Why is that? Is it because, at some level, men's boxing is more ferocious, more gut-wrenching and primal? I've watched women's boxing, and some of the girls in the sport can really move, great technical boxers, and they can hit really well too, but I'm not sure why women's boxing doesn't rate the same press as men's boxing. You'd think that there'd be more boxing news on women, but perhaps there's something more at the core of the issue. Perhaps the real boxing news story is that there's just not as many women interested in watching women's boxing. Perhaps there's more men that watch women's boxing, and vice versa. It would be great for women's boxing if HBO boxing, or ESPN boxing, or Showtime boxing ran a hard and earnest campaign to seriously and consistently promote women's boxing, but maybe the fan support is just too soft right now. Men's boxing is making a bit of a resurgence, and maybe women's boxing is still coming of age.
