HBO Boxing has single handedly brought back to life the sport of mainstream boxing with the promotion of Saturday's Mayweather vs. Hatton match. HBO Boxing created a series called 24/7 that documented the two fighters lives in the upcoming days before the fight. It was released in three episodes, which at least at my house have been extremely popular. To me this is one of the most mainstream, well-marketed fights in a long while.

I love boxing but honestly have not been as excited for a fight as I am with this one. The advertising boasts that this is the biggest fight in the past ten years, which may be true. I know that I will be visiting a local bar on fight night to watch this one but where was the mainstream boxing news before this? They are two undefeated fighters who each have created a boatload of acclaim but that can be said about many fighters. It may be the extreme Mayweather trash talking shown on the HBO Boxing 24/7 series in comparison to the down to earth Hatton but it is hard to say.
